This is one of several amazing lighthouses that Leanne took us to when we traveled with her along the Victoria coast. Thanks, Leanne! Go to Leanne’s blog to see all of today’s entries.
The Petrel is an old whaling ship grounded on South Georgia Island in the Southern Ocean. Nearby in the settlement of Grytviken are a the remains of a former British whaling station and the grave of explorer Ernest Shackleton, barely visible in the background. This image is my contribution to today’s boat-themed challenge hosted by Leanne Cole. To see all of the other sea-going vessels processed in monochrome go to Leanne’s blog.
