This week’s challenge theme is “seasons,” and winter in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains is perfect for black and white. This image was taken shortly after a substantial snowfall. All the photos from today’s challenge are available on Leanne Coles’s blog.
A substantial amount of snow fell on this suburban open space area in central Colorado, but after a couple of days the weather warmed up and it all melted! It was pretty while it lasted. To see all of this week’s monochrome images, go to Leanne Cole’s blog.
Today’s challenge theme is Season and I chose this first image to send to Leanne for the challenge. To see all of the creative entries in the challenge, visit Leanne Cole Photography.
The second image, taken in the same location in Colorado, is also monochromatic in appearance. I processed both images for a light, high key look.
It is February and the waters of this Rocky Mountain creek near Boulder are melting slightly. You would think that spring was near. But sunshine and warmth return even in the coldest of Colorado winters and spring snowstorms sometimes continue until early May.
